Matt’s practice is focused on expropriations, real estate-related litigation and commercial litigation. Matt has been an associate at the firm since his call to the bar in 2006.
Matt received his LL.B. from Dalhousie University in 2005. While at law school, he spent a semester working at the Dalhousie Legal Aid Clinic in Halifax. Matt’s articling experience included a rotation at a high-profile criminal defence boutique.
Prior to attending law school, Matt attended the University of Toronto where he received his B.A. (Honours) in 2001, and his M.A. in the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology in 2002.
Matt is a member of the Ontario Expropriation Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the Advocates’ Society and the International Right of Way Association.
Matt has presented on various topics relating to his expertise in expropriation law before the Ontario Association of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. In the fall of 2009, Matt was asked to speak to a delegation of government officials from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
